About

I am Monica Barnette LaBarrie, and I reside in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, a suburb of about 30 minutes from DC and Baltimore. I am currently a Senior Project Director with a government-centered consulting firm. I have more than two decades of experience in project management, event logistics, and technical assistance.

I hold a Master of Science in Human Resources Management and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, along with several professional credentials, including my Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), Certified Government Meeting Professional (CGMP), Digital Event Strategist (DES), and Hybrid and Virtual Event Director certifications. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of supporting agencies such as the White House, the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Education, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, and the American Institute for Research.

Service has always been my greatest calling. I mentored for five years with a self-funded Reflections of Tomorrow youth mentoring program and ten years with the D.C. Department of Social Services Foster Care program, and I co-founded a weekly mentorship initiative for children from low-income communities. Through my church and partnerships with organizations such as the Black Women's Health Imperative, the Salvation Army, Food & Friends, HBCUs, and Project Discovery, I continue to give my time, resources, and heart to those in need.

It is my distinct honor to serve as a member of Swing Phi Swing Social Fellowship, Incorporated, where I am committed to making meaningful, lasting contributions to the sisterhood and the communities Swing so faithfully serves.
